Position description

KFF, the non-profit health policy analysis, polling and journalism organization, is seeking an Enterprise and Investigative Reporter to join the staff of Kaiser Health News (KHN), its editorially independent newsroom distributing in-depth coverage of health issues across the country. KHN is an ambitious and growing provider of news on health care politics, policy, and business.

The Reporter will join KHN’s Enterprise and Investigative team. The Reporter will produce in-depth enterprise and investigative stories for online publication and suitable for distribution to national and regional media partners. The Reporter will work closely with the project editors and data editors in conceiving and executing assignments. The qualified candidate will report to the Senior Enterprise Project Editor.

This full-time position will ideally be based in Washington, DC, but applicants from elsewhere will be considered as well. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications and includes an excellent benefits package.

The Reporter will join KHN’s Enterprise and Investigative team and will produce in-depth enterprise and investigative stories for online publication and suitable for distribution to national, regional, and local media partners. Collaborative journalism is fundamental to who we are.

This is a senior position, so familiarity with public records requests and court documents is expected; some facility with data reporting is a plus. Knowledge of health care and/or experience in business journalism is highly useful for joining our award-winning newsroom.  Show us your track record of delivering exclusive and revelatory stories that expose problems and hold people or institutions accountable.
