In this role , you will report to Vice President, Global Government Relations and will be a key member of the Global Government Relations organization based in Washington, DC. 


  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • At least 10 years proven experience in corporate government relations or government agency (USTR, Department of Commerce, State Department or National Security Council preferred). More than 7 years experience in corporate government relations managing an international portfolio(s) is preferred.
  • Substantive experience advocating corporate positions with U.S. government interagency interaction and industry trade associations.
  • Experience effectively engaging with foreign governments in Washington and/or internationally.
  • Proven experience as a project manager with a successful project delivery record.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and interest in tracking trends in foreign policy, national security and international economic policy affecting the consumer products industry.
  • Ability to develop and execute strategies to achieve business objectives.
  • Ability to request and articulate company positions on public policy issues to internal and external audiences and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge and understanding of key policy issues of interest to the consumer products industry (e.g., economic competitiveness, international trade policy, government subsidies, environmental and climate issues, regulatory issues, international tax, and supply chain resilience)
  • Holding a security clearance or the ability to hold a security clearance is preferred.
  • Expertise managing an international government relations portfolio with a proven track record of success in markets including the Asia Pacific, Latin America, and/or Europe/Eurasia.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Desired Skills 

  • Experience on a range of government policies which impact American corporate investments and market access opportunities in markets around the world-including understanding of sanctions policies, experience successfully advocating for corporate positions on trade negotiations and trade policies, proven track record in identifying and working with foreign and U.S. governments to secure trade and investment incentives, among others.
  • Understanding and ability to navigate business related aspects of the various international multilateral fora including APEC, WTO, UN, G20/B20 and ASEAN.
  • Strong leadership skills including building relationships, influencing others, adaptability, and resolving conflict due to interaction with key stakeholders in various countries.
  • Executive presence and credibility with an ability to manage by influence. Comfort with public speaking.
  • Ability to credibly explain complex business subjects for government officials from a wide range of cultures. Ability to credibly explain complex political situations to business colleagues.
  • Understanding of requirements for executive staffing and briefing preparation process.
