This position is located in the ILO Decent Work Technical Support Team and Country Office for the Southern Cone of Latin America (DWT/CO-Santiago), based in Santiago, Chile. The DWT/CO-Santiago covers Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay and provides technical support to the ILO Country Offices for Brazil (CO-Brasilia) and Argentina (CO-Buenos Aires). The DWT/CO-Santiago provides high-quality, timely and comprehensive technical support to the countries within its geographical area of competence in the design, implementation and monitoring of Decent Work Country Programmes and United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Frameworks.
The incumbent will provide technical support and make policy recommendations in respect of wages and income and will also address issues related to working time and work organization. The incumbent will collaborate with the Regional Office and with the offices in the region on issues falling within their technical responsibility.
An advanced university degree in economics (preferably with a specialization in labour markets) or a related field.
At least eight years of experience at the national level or five years at the international level in wages and labour market policies. Experience in respect of working time and/or work organization in the framework of collective bargaining would be an asset. Experience in quantitative and qualitative research and analysis. Experience in Latin America could be an asset.
Excellent command of Spanish. Working knowledge of English. Knowledge of Portuguese would be an asset.
