Position description

Trinomics is a leading consultancy firm dedicated to supporting the transition to a low-carbon, green and climate-resilient society. Our work includes applied economic research and policy advice, capacity building, and knowledge transfer in different subsets of environmental policy topics, with clients ranging from European institutions to national governments in Europe, to international clients such as bilateral and multilateral donors and international financial institutions.

As part of the expansion of our European business operations, we are looking for an experienced Senior Environmental Consultant to join our EU environment policy team (preferably full-time), either in our premises in Rotterdam or in Brussels.

The successful applicant will support the team in further expanding Trinomics’ project portfolio in environment policy development and assessments across the following areas:

  • Environmental economics (e.g. nature based-solutions, sustainable finance, non-market valuations/ecosystem valuation, circular economy).

Trinomics has extensive experience across these areas mentioned above (see also our website). We have led the work on the ‘Evaluation of the EU Biodiversity Strategy to 2020’ and ‘EU ecosystem restoration targets impact assessment’, and have developed an updated and improved tracking methodology of biodiversity investment under the EU's Multi-annual Financial Framework for 2021-2027. We are also leading the ‘Soil Health Law Impact Assessment’ and contributing to the ‘Ambient Air Quality Air Quality Impact Assessment’, and the ‘policy impact assessment of the Urban Wastewater Treatment Directive’. Next to that, we led the ‘Impact Assessment on the Sustainable Product Initiative’ and several circular economy projects as well as several contracts with a focus on Africa, where we are supporting countries such as Rwanda and Ghana to develop so-called ‘circular economy action plans’.
