The Partnership for Transparency Fund (PTF) is seeking an energetic Communications Manager. The successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal and communications skills and must be well organized. S/he will support managers and volunteers on a variety of tasks related to communications and the operations of the organization. The ability to work quickly in a decentralized environment with strong attention to detail is essential. S/he must be comfortable prioritizing their own work and working independently.
The Communications Manager will be responsible for (i) PTF’s internal and external communications and (ii) with the Program Manager, supporting its programs, volunteers, and operations in a way that reflects and promotes the mission and vision of the organization and enhances its impact.
Communications: overall responsibility for managing PTF’s communications strategy, including the preparation of the annual report, and social media accounts (newsletter, website, and targeted communications) based on content provided by PTF Advisers and one’s own original content, as well as supporting knowledge-sharing events. In the immediate term, the focus will be on planning and preparing new communications initiatives, potentially including but not limited to a newsletter, event series, and information-sharing fora.
Program Management: supporting project teams and PTF affiliates around the world to track progress in program initiatives; assist with developing and implementing business plans and projects; assist in drafting, editing, and formatting proposals, and reports to board and donors. Take on more project management responsibilities over time.
Fundraising: track fundraising efforts and contributions; coordinate with the Program Manager on donor relationships and maintain funder matrix; and, support Management Team, Board and Advisors in their fundraising, partnership, and outreach efforts.
Volunteer Coordination: Help on-board new volunteers; manage and administer volunteer database; provide individual support to volunteers as necessary; and, manage fellows and interns when applicable.
Operations and Administration: Set up and support in-person and virtual meetings, including producing meeting minutes; review and manage internal and external inquiries; oversee and maintain document management system; and, support operations and projects at regional affiliates, as needed.
The position reports directly to the President of PTF, Dirk Mattheisen, and works closely with the PTF management team, including coordinating and consulting with the Program Manager, Samuel Stalls.
Office Location: Work will include in-person and virtual components. PTF’s office is located at the Open Gov Hub at 1100 13th Street NW – Suite 800, Washington DC 20005.
Office hours are from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday, with one hour for lunch, though alternative hours may be arranged.

After an initial six months period, there will be a review of the Communications Manager’s performance. At this six-month point, either party may opt to modify the program or end the agreement by written notice to the other not less than 15 days prior to the end of such period.
