5Rights Foundation is seeking to recruit a Multilateral Regulatory Lead to engage with international policy-makers and regulators to deliver policies, laws, standards and tools for the implementation and enforcement of children’s rights in the digital environment.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dynamic individual with a legal or policy background to play a central role delivering practical change for children, as part of a small organisation that has a reputation for expertise and a strong track record of both setting the agenda and following policy through to implementation and enforcement.

Working within the international advocacy team, Multilateral Regulatory Lead the will provide top-notch analysis and lead and participate in negotiations and expert working groups for the development of implementing policy and legislation, guidelines, technical standards and codes of conduct.

Person specification

This is a highly challenging and rewarding position for a senior professional. The ideal candidate will demonstrate these essential skills though substantial professional experience and a track record of delivering in an international or multicultural context.

  • Legal regulatory analysis;
  • A sharp mind and pen for succinct regulatory analysis;
  • A meticulous eye for detail and ability to craft and manipulate legal language (at least in English);
  • A keen sense of politics and knack for strategic negotiation and timing;
  • The imagination and curiosity to put forward new and inventive ways to solve problems without compromising on core goals;
  • The reliability, patience and relentless focus required to get complex deliverables over the line;
  • The interpersonal, communication and leadership skills (including humility and self-confidence) to build consensus within groups and lasting positive relationships;
  • Strong prioritisation and organisation skills to manage various processes and pieces of work in parallel;
  • A can-do, action and solution-oriented attitude;
  • Self-motivation and drive to work independently and cohesively within a remote team;
  • The commitment, energy and enthusiasm to deliver on 5Rights’ ambitious mission.

Remuneration details

  • Location: Remote position with Brussels-base preferred but not critical. Some international travel required;
  • Salary: €2800-€3800 net/month for a Brussels-based candidate, dependent on experience;
  • Working hours: Full time, with some accommodation necessary for work across time-zones;
  • Statutory pension contribution;
  • No immediate line management responsibility;
  • Work equipment including a laptop will be provided;
  • Starting data: asap;
  • Reporting line: International Advocacy Director, based in Brussels.
