Bunge is beyond excited to share this opportunity with you! We are looking for a Government affairs trainee who will join the department and support it in fulfilling its mission – to manage European policy developments on all food & feed safety regulatory aspects.

More on the role:
This role is located in Bunge’s office in Brussels, Belgium. You will work closely with 5 colleagues (locally) and a much bigger team globally.
Main responsibilities will include a broad scope of sustainability issues. You will work on monitoring the development of key EU legislative files in the fields of corporate due diligence, environment, agriculture, trade, energy and much more. Brussels stakeholders’ social media, press statements, position papers and EU media outlets for coverage of key policy topics and attend industry relevant events.

More on Your Traineeship:
Bunge is getting ready for future business challenges and is looking for fresh talents and mindsets to join us on this adventure. Besides being part of the government affairs department, in September 2023 you will have the possibility to enter the rotation part of your trainee program and be a part of other departments within the company for a period of 4 months.
This traineeship is a full-time role. You will also receive adequate compensation (salary). The duration of the traineeship is 1.5 years, and it includes core function support, rotation program and a final project.


Candidate checklist:

  • Fresh graduate student (in the field of Political Science/European studies/International Relations/Communication/Journalism/Law/Environmental Studies/Chemistry/Agronomy/Agri-food/Nutrition) with maximum of 1-2 years of experience;
  • Familiarity with the EU legislative process;
  • Solid research, analytical and communication skills;
  • Excellent writing skills, including reporting on complex dossiers;
  • Fluent in English, other languages are a plus;
  • Previous experience in the agri-food sector/EU institutions or EU associations is a plus.
