Fast-paced, high-profile work that makes a difference! Join us in implementing the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA). We are the Existing Chemical Risk Management Division (ECRMD), Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics (OPPT), Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention at US EPA. ECRMD is responsible for leading the risk management and regulatory activities of OPPT's Existing Chemicals Program. These activities include developing regulations to address unreasonable risks from chemicals in industrial and consumer products, engaging with stakeholders and the federal government, and working with scientists in developing risk evaluations to support regulatory activities. • Develop regulatory actions that address the unreasonable risks of chemicals in commerce through policy, technical, and communication projects 
• Conduct presentations and briefings for senior management, other federal agencies, industry, NGOs, and the general public 
• Analyze and understand science and technical concepts (e.g., risk assessments, academic articles) 
• Apply regulations, statutes, and internal guidelines to write and publish regulations 
• Lead/participate on teams/workgroups spanning the Agency  
• Coordinate meetings inside and outside EPA and engage with the regulated community


• Strong leadership and communication skills (written and oral) for a fast-paced environment
• Work well independently and on multi-disciplinary teams; experience managing teams a plus
• Ability to identify and resolve complex policy and science issues
• Analytical and organizational skills
• Detail-oriented
• Capable of working well under time pressures and shifting priorities
• A science background, experience with statistics, and/or economics a plus
