Position description

The EOSC Association (EOSC-A) was established in July 2020 as an international non-profit Association (AISBL) in Belgium. With already over 230 member and observer organisations from across Europe, the Association represents a single voice for the advocacy and representation for the broader EOSC Stakeholder community in Europe, promoting alignment of EU research policy and priorities. An essential role of the Association is to continuously develop the EOSC Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) which will influence future EOSC activities at institutional, national and EU level.

About the position

The EOSC Association AISBL is seeking to fill the position of a Policy Officer as soon as possible.

In this role, the Policy Officer will be part of the Secretariat, which advises and supports the General Assembly and the Board and coordinates the implementation of their decisions. The Policy Officer will be reporting to the Secretary General.

Your responsibilities

  • Deliver the monitoring obligations of the EOSC Association for the Horizon Europe Partnership. This includes among other things:
    • Lead the methodological evolution of the Monitoring and Evaluation Framework;
    • Collect requested data from the members of the EOSC Association and report regularly in the requested formats to the European Commission and other stakeholders;
    • Lead the annual process of establishing, reporting, and assessing of the Additional Activities Plan (AAP);
    • Collaborate with initiatives in Member States and Associated Countries (MS/AC) to collect additional relevant data and insight;
    • Collaborate with EU-funded projects to align activities and generate synergies.
  • Write policy papers, strategies, briefings, reports, and other internal and external documents;
  • Collecting and processing relevant information from partners of the ecosystem;
  • Support and facilitate the work of the Advisory Groups and Task Forces of the EOSC Association;
  • Support the Board of Directors and the day-to-day operations of the Secretariat.

Required Experience

  • Good command of qualitative and/or quantitative research methods;
  • Academic degree in a subject relevant to the portfolio of responsibilities, e.g., social sciences, economics, political science, business administration;
  • Deep knowledge of the EU institutions and the decision-making processes, as well as policy areas relevant to the topic such as Research and Innovation, Open Science, the Digital Single Market;
  • Experience working in a multicultural, international context;
  • Capacity to learn and evolve with the job and the needs of the organisation.

Skills Set and Expectations

  • Experience in working in an international environment is essential;
