Position description

Global Witness is seeking a Senior Data Investigations Advisor to support our ongoing work on the Ukraine conflict.

About Global Witness

Global Witness wants to end environmental and human rights abuses driven by political and corporate elites.

The planet and its residents face a crisis: the climate is being destroyed, and civic freedoms are deteriorating. Rampant abuse of power is pushing the world to breaking point as Governments, and big corporations all too often go unchecked in their exploitation of our planet and its people.

For us to succeed, we need to embody the principles we fight for. Global Witness strives for cohesion, solidarity, and inclusion as only together can we protect one another and the planet to build a better and more just future.

About the role

As Senior Investigator in our London office, you’ll be working within a team to produce data-driven investigations highlighting environmental abuses and the financial and power structures that enable them.

You’ll work closely with analysts, programmers and policy experts to develop investigative leads and gather evidence using key datasets. Your research will be used as the basis for impactful media content.

About you

You will be a talented and persistent researcher with a keen eye for a story. Passionate about achieving change, you’ll know how to identify leads and communicate your findings persuasively.

You will bring your ability to use a diverse array of datasets including financial filings, trade records and asset registries. As a creative problem solver, you will be at ease identifying novel solutions.

Finally, you’re a collaborator who enjoys working as part of a team with a solid infinity to Global Witness’ values.
