The Department of Political Science and International Affairs in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Northern Colorado is seeking an Assistant Professor of Comparative and American Politics (contract-renewable). The normal teaching load is 7-8 sections per year (70-80%) which covers a variety of courses along with professional activity (0-10%) and service (20%) . The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate potential for teaching excellence in traditional and hybrid settings, and participating in department, college, and community service activities. The Department of Political Science and International Affairs at the University of Northern Colorado has five full-time faculty members. We are responsible for two majors: an interdisciplinary major in International Affairs, as well as a traditional Political Science major
Minimum Qualifications:
ABD in Comparative and American Politics
Broadly trained in Comparative Politics/Area Studies as well as American Politics
Committed to teaching in a small undergraduate-only department, have a strong liberal arts background, and an interest in developing new courses.
Ability to teach a range of comparative courses related to industrial democracies (e.g., welfare state, social democracy, comparative capitalism); as well as a range of American courses.
Preferred Qualifications:
Pd.D. in Comparative and American Politics
Ability to teach courses on Europe
