Job description

We are looking for a senior graphic designer who will be responsible for creating, managing, and producing design solutions for all printed materials as well as the design for digital use on our website, social media platforms, and e-marketing campaigns. They will be responsible for managing the creation and execution of our visual identity, ensuring that all our communications align with the established brand guidelines.

Part of the Creative department, the senior graphic designer will work closely with the Creative Director as well as with our developer, Programs, and Marketing teams to define requirements, iterate on design solutions, and contribute expertise for various products following HRF’s branding guidelines, marketing strategy, and communication goals.

Other than a strong understanding of design across all platforms, the ideal candidate is able to efficiently combine creativity, functionality, and technology to produce eye-catching creative assets. Responsibilities also include staying up to date on industry trends and the latest digital design software.

 

Responsibilities

  • Participate in design discussions and give feedback during planning and strategy meetings.
  • Quickly translate ideas into sketches, wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes. Suggested Figma experience.
  • Manage and produce digital design assets (static and video) for a range of platforms (social, display advertising, website).
  • Create website assets from hero designs to web animations.
  • Create email designs for MailChimp.
  • Design landing pages. 
  • Research industry trends to present ideas and concepts for timely digital innovation.
  • Ensure consistency in designs across all company platforms.

 

 

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in digital design, graphic design, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of graphic design experience.
  • Experience in the design thinking process.
  • Experience and flexibility working in a collaborative team environment.
  • Experience working directly with developers to implement designs.
  • Expertise with standard design tools, including Adobe Creative Suite, and Figma.
  • Familiarity with elementor and salient plugin
  • Strong knowledge of current digital design best practices and web production techniques.
  • A good understanding of visual design principles, as well as experience with user-centered design.
  • Experience creating digital assets for a variety of target audiences. 
  • Strong portfolio showing the breadth of digital design capabilities.
  • Strong work ethic and personal accountability.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Familiarity with Elementor and Salient plugin is a plus.
  • Photo and video editing capabilities are a plus.

 

Compensation

Expected starting salary range of $75,000 - $90,000 per year commensurate with experience

 

Location

The Human Rights Foundation is based in New York City, and HRF has a hybrid work policy in place.
