Greater Asia-Pacific is a research and consulting startup specializing in international policy and geopolitical analysis. We connect and coordinate a global network of researchers with expertise in global affairs, geopolitics, and international security, with a particular focus on the Asia-Pacific region. Our ambition is to establish ourselves as leaders in 𝐬𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐨 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠.

𝐂𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐎𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬
We are currently seeking contributors of all seniority levels for project-based collaboration. We are especially interested in experts in the following geopolitical hotspots:
1. 𝘜𝘚-𝘊𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘢 𝘳𝘦𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴: Scenario analysis and forecasting across all policy areas.
2. 𝘌𝘢𝘴𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘚𝘰𝘶𝘵𝘩 𝘊𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘢 𝘚𝘦𝘢𝘴 (including Taiwan): Security alignments and military buildup in the region.
3. 𝘔𝘺𝘢𝘯𝘮𝘢𝘳: State crisis and its regional implications.

While we prioritize candidates with a demonstrated interest or expertise in these areas, we also welcome applications from individuals with expertise in other aspects of global politics.

𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲.

Qualifications

  • Educational or Professional Background in International Relations: Candidates should have a solid foundation in international relations, political science, or a related field, ideally evidenced by a relevant degree or professional experience.
  • Familiarity with Contemporary Global Affairs: A deep understanding of current geopolitical dynamics is essential, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region. Expertise in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable: (1) US-China Relations; (2) East/South China Sea; Myanmar. (See above).
  • Networking Skills: A well-established network with relevant figures or organizations in policy making, policy analysis, or policy advocacy is highly beneficial. This includes connections with think tanks, government agencies, academic institutions, and international organizations.
  • Analytical and Forecasting Abilities: Strong analytical skills and the ability to develop well-informed forecasts and scenarios based on complex geopolitical trends.
  • Effective Communication: Written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey complex geopolitical analyses to diverse audiences, including policymakers, business leaders, and the general public.

2. 𝐌𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐋𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫: Explaining your interest in the Asia-Pacific region, your research methods, and how you can contribute to the field of scenario forecasting.

Selected applicants will be commissioned a research project upon evaluation of their expertise. The project shall culminate in the production of a research report. Remuneration for this project-based collaboration varies depending on the contributor's level of seniority and the intrinsic quality of the paper.

Successful contributors will have an opportunity to develop longer-term cooperation with the Greater Asia-Pacific project.
