The role

We are looking to recruit a Business Development Executive to support the company’s senior management in the acquisition of strategic and normally high value contracts across all areas of the business. Reporting to the two company directors (currently based in the UK and France), you will also support the work of the Senior Education and TVET consultant (based in Ireland).

Duties and responsibilities

The specific tasks of the role, as guided by and with the support of the Directors, are to:

  • Conduct market research with the aim of:
    • Identifying viable high-value or strategic contract opportunities
    • Identifying and assessing partners, sub-contractors and experts that can add value to our offer for such contracts
    • Assessing the legal and financial parameters under which such contracts will operate
  • Develop capability statements and expressions of interest that lead the company to being shortlisted to tender
  • Respond to invitations or requests for tender with the preparation of relevant tender documents, including:
    • Presentation of administrative compliance;
    • Recruitment and presentation of high-quality bid-winning expert teams – both at an international and national level;
    • Support to the technical content of such proposals, including drafting background and corporate presentational materials;
    • Support to the financial content of such proposals through negotiations with partners, sub-contractors and individual experts, and the preparation of project budgets
  • Undertake checks to ensure proposed contracts are in line with internal and external policies and procedures, including:
    • Conduct of due diligence, including to meet ISO37001 obligations, on potential partners, sub-contractors and experts.
    • Undertake country and project risk assessments for tenders in high-risk countries, in alignment with our Duty of Care procedures.
  • Other ad hoc tasks as requested by the Directors

This description is a brief synopsis of the role and is not designed to be restrictive. Depending on your skills and experience, and the current portfolio, you may focus on one aspect more than another.

In doing the above, you will be expected to contribute positively to the company’s profitable portfolio of work and its reputation for successful project acquisition and subsequent implementation.
