Position description

The Department of Politics at Brandeis University seeks an instructor for Politics 15a: Introduction to International Politics (4 credit course) for the Spring 2025 semester.

This course introduces students to the study of International Relations. Topics include the nature of the state system, the sources of international
conflict and cooperation, the outbreak and settlement of wars and militarized conflict, and the origins and effects of international institutions and international agreements. The class may be delivered in the format of a 50 minute lecture offered three times a week (at either M/W/Th at 9:05-9:55 a.m. or at M/W/Th at 10:10-11 a.m.) OR it may be delivered as a 80 minute lecture offered twice times a week (meeting on Mondays and Wednesday from 4:05-5:25 pm).

Candidates with a Phd in Political science and teaching experience in the IR subfield will be given preference. ABD's close to completion of their degrees will be considered as well.
