The Department of Political Science at the City College of New York (CCNY)-City University of New York (CUNY) invites applications for tenure-track assistant professorship in American Politics to begin in the fall of 2025. The substantive specialization and methodological approach for this position are· open. However, one requirement is that the candidate be willing and able to teach a large multi-section Introduction to American Government course once a year. Candidates should also have a strong commitment to City College's historic mission of providing a public first-rate education to all students, regardless of means or background. Successful candidates will be required to teach two courses per semester until tenure review, pursue an active research agenda, participate actively the life of the department and the college, and have completed all requirements for a Ph.D. by the start date.

About the Political Science Department:
The Political Science Department is housed within the Colin Powell School of Civic and Global Leadership, which is the home of the social sciences at CCNY. The Powell School is the largest student division of the college, with nearly 4,000 students and it is home to the CCNY's public service and leadership development programs. The Political Science Department hosts roughly 300 majors and includes a master’s program in international relations and an honors program in legal studies.

QUALIFICATIONS
Ph.D. degree in Political Science, or closely related field. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
COMPENSATION Salary Range: $82,928 - $86,645
