VSE is currently looking for five (5) full-time interns in the following areas:
The position will run for 6 months, starting ideally in November. Successful candidates will be highly organised, motivated to work to bring positive change, have a pro-active and dynamic approach to work with the ability to solve problems and create solutions using their own initiative.
Main responsibilities:
Policy and Advocacy intern: Conduct research and draft reports on key thematic areas related to victims’ rights including background research, administrative and organisational tasks; monitor EU, regional and international updates; support the implementation of EU projects and advocacy activities.
Projects intern: Support the implementation of different EU multi-country projects (research and innovation projects, capacity building projects, etc.), conduct research and draft reports, papers and studies linked to projects; support the development of project tools and solutions. Contribute to the development of new project ideas and proposals as well as to the identification of new project opportunities.
Networking, Partnership and Capacity Building intern: contribute to identify members' needs and priorities, support the conceptualisation, organisation and delivery of capacity building events, support the development of VSE's engagement strategy and membership policy, support the work on VSE's Members Management System and the team's effort in expending VSE's network and in creating new partnerships.
Administration and finances intern: Support the development of financial reports, contribute to the financial management of EU projects, conduct research and support the drafting of financial and organisational policies, assist with financial record-keeping and in processing invoices, carry out dayto-day administrative tasks.
Victim Care intern: Support the development of VSE platform for victims, conduct research to improve VSE Referral System and Terrorism Response Network, create facts sheets on available services for victims, and support the drafting of protocols and other related tasks.
General skills & experience:
Terms of the contract
The position is based in VSE’s head office in Brussels. Applicants must have the legal right to work in the EU. VSE is unable to assist non-EU nationals to obtain a work permit or help with relocation costs.
The selected candidate will be offered a Belgian Convention d’immersion professionnelle (CIP) (38 hours/week) subject to a payment of 1050 euros per month. VSE grants the interns up to six days of extra-legal paid leave during the internship.
Desired starting date of assignment: mid-November.
