Overview of the internships
We have multiple CNN International internship opportunities available. By applying to this posting, you will be considered for all internship opportunities within this area. These internships will be located in the ATL area. The selected interns will be expected to join us in the office on a regular cadence based on the intern manager’s in office schedule.
This could include, but is not limited to:
CNN International Productions Intern: ATL - Spring 2025
CNN International Planning Intern: ATL - Spring 2025 *Note: this role will require interns to be available to work 24 hours/week including on Saturdays
CNN International Newsroom Intern: ATL - Spring 2025 *Note: this role will require interns to be available to work in-office 2 days/week
International News Hub 100% In Person Intern: ATL - Spring 2025 *Note: this role will require interns to be available to work 100% in-office for 16-24 hours/week
Your Role Accountabilities
Duties could include:
A fully functioning member of the team, this work will be as varied as the global news agenda is. Every day we will be working on a different story - from breaking news to analysis of global events
Researching, pitching, planning, and putting together stories, segments, and programs on topics like travel, business, international cultures, conservation, innovation, and more
Working with a team that produces, writes, and creates original pieces for broadcast and online audiences
Learning about the technology and systems used in news and features production for digital, television, and social content
Newsgathering and assisting with live reporting for TV and digital
Attend editorial meetings and liaise with CNNI show teams
Contact prospective guests for live shows
Handle logistics for guest bookings
Conduct research and pre-interviews for use in show segments
Cutting videos and sound bites
Train alongside our APs
Work through lists of elements needed for the show and get those elements ready
Rudimentary graphics for production – basic graphic function
Working with international content unit to write broadcast scripts and packages
Qualifications & Experience
Must have a keen interest in current events and international affairs and a passion for telling engaging stories to a global audience
Please include a link to your writing portfolio or previous work samples highlighting your writing skills on your resume
Available to work 100% in-office for 16-24 hours/week (for International News Hub role)
Available to work 24 hours/week including on Saturdays (for CNN International Planning role)
Available to work in-office 2 days/week (for CNN International Newsroom role)
Understanding of international cultures and trends
Excellent communication skills both written and in person
Awareness of basic editing, shooting and production skills
Previous writing experience whether for a school newspaper or previous internship or other related experience
A great attitude and willingness to learn
Must show initiative and ask questions
Intellectually curious
Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university degree program for the full duration of the internship (proof of enrollment required)
Must be a rising Junior or Senior (18 years or older)
Must be in academic good standing (3.0 or above cumulative GPA) A transcript will be required to verify your GPA if an offer is extended.

Journalism major or journalism experience
Additional language skills
Knowledge of video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro) a plus

The duration of the program is 12 weeks
Program dates:
Start Date: January 27th
End Date: April 18th
Interns will be expected to work 16-24 hours per week in a hybrid capacity.
Our internships are paid opportunities with a competitive hourly wage. Credit is not required; however, we will provide the necessary documentation for school credit if desired. Relocation is not provided.
Interviewing will take place from October through December. A WBD team member will contact you if your experiences and interests match an open internship position. Due to the high volume of applications, we are unable to give individual status updates.
