COCIR is looking for a Director of Innovation and Digital Health.
COCIR is the European trade association representing medical imaging, radiotherapy, healthcare ICT and electromedical industries. Founded in 1959, COCIR is a non-profit organisation based in Brussels with a China desk in Beijing.
COCIR is a founding partner of the Innovative Health Initiative (IHI), a joint undertaking under Horizon Europe, the European Union Framework Programme for Research and Innovation. We promote the implementation of innovative technologies in health that enable early detection, intervention and new health delivery models. COCIR is an indispensable ally in the digitalization and application of data.
We are looking for a purpose driven and resilient senior professional with a passion for healthcare and innovation. The Director will play a central role in advancing the COCIR strategic priority on Innovation and Digitalization, i.e. IHI and the digital transformation of healthcare.
The position includes representation to European institutions and stakeholders, strategic oversight of IHI, coordination of COCIR digital health activities and leadership in promoting the societal benefits of innovative technologies.
Advocacy and Representation
- Represent COCIR in the “Innovative Health Initiative (IHI)” in partnership with the European Commission and other European life sciences industries;
- Represent COCIR in the “Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) Europe” and in other expert fora related to digital health;
- Provide thought leadership on the value of innovative health technologies;
- Develop and execute advocacy plans to articulate COCIR positions on innovation and digital health.
IHI Oversight
- Determine and explain the value and sustainability of our solutions for healthcare systems and establish the medical technology sector as critical for healthy populations;
- Identify innovation trends and ensure cross collaboration in COCIR committee structures where relevant for IHI;
- Define priorities, track progress, and ensure effective operations in collaboration with IHI Working Group.
Digital Health Coordination
- Coordinate COCIR activities in digital health, i. e. Artificial Intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, health data policies, and interoperability;
- Draft COCIR statements and position papers on digital health;
- Define priorities, track progress, and ensure effective operations in collaboration with Digital Health Committee and Working Groups.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Relevant academic degree(s);
- Ten years of professional (international) experience with an understanding of the medical technology sector and European funding programs for research and innovation.

- Excellent communicator, able to engage diverse audiences with clarity and assertiveness;
- Strong negotiator able to multitask;
