Position description

The Congressional Research Service (CRS) Office of Administrative Operations (OPS) is seeking a Program Management Assistant to provide administrative support to ensure sufficient operation of its Procurement and Administration Section. The position’s primary focus is on financial and administrative activities however, candidates must also be capable of providing support to various other areas of the Office.

The Program Management Assistant performs a wide range of administrative support duties relating to information management; program coordination; logistical support; records management and the processing of administrative documents including some on-line systems such as the Library of Congress: 1) financial systems such as Momentum, Financial Reporting System, Library of Congress Budget System, 2) facilities management system, and 3) WebTA system). Duties include:

  • Creating and/or contributing to the creation of databases, spreadsheets, and other automated records for the purpose of documenting, tracking, monitoring, analyzing and presenting information.
  • Facilitating the administrative coordination of a wide variety of financial and facilities activities.
  • Performing data entry and other information and data management-related tasks using standard spreadsheet software, specialized databases, and/or automated tracking systems.
  • Serving as a program contact and maintaining communication with CRS staff and managers to facilitate the coordination of administrative tasks and, serving as a contact person for customer problems, questions or concerns.
  • Preparing a variety of routine written administrative documents.
  • Serving as the custodian of office and/or section authoritative records.

This position is not eligible for permanent remote telework.

This is a non-supervisory, bargaining unit position.

The tour of duty for this position is full-time.

Relocation expenses will not be authorized for the person(s) selected under this vacancy announcement.
