Your New Role...
This producer is tasked with conceiving, writing, and executing written and interview segments for “Fareed Zakaria GPS.”
Your Role Accountabilities…
Pitch thought-provoking analytical segments on such varied topics as economics, foreign policy, innovation, technology, politics and more.
The successful candidate will be expected to pitch ideas for our “Last Look” segment. Once an idea is approved, this person will then dig deeply into the topic (in a short period of time); craft a compelling, informative, and well-written analytical script; and then produce a piece of highly compelling television in edit.
On weeks that the candidate is not writing and producing the “Last Look,” they will produce taped or live guest interviews using the same skill set.
They will see both taped and live interviews through from conception to completion – pitching guests, conducting pre-interviews, gathering elements, overseeing editors, and calling elements out of a live control room.

A proven interest or experience in foreign policy and/or economics reporting/producing is a major advantage.
Control room experience is a plus.
Bachelor’s degree required.
Must be able to work an extended schedule as the news cycle and deadlines require.
Sunday availability is often required.
