Position Summary

The department seeks to hire for a full-time appointment as a Visiting Lecturer in Law and Policy to begin August, 2025. The faculty member will be expected to teach required introductory and upperdivision level courses in law and policy, and when needed, other introductory core courses at the undergraduate level such as American National Government and The Political World. We are especially interested in candidates who can contribute to diversity through their teaching and service.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD in Political Science or a related field or JD from an accredited School of Law by start date of appointment (August 1, 2025)

    OR
  • MA in Political Science, Master of Public Administration (MPA), or Master of Public Policy (MPP) degree from an accredited institution with substantial experience in policy making and legislative processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Demonstrated strength in teaching at the undergraduate levels.
  2. Ability to mentor broad range of students at the undergraduate level.
  3. Ability to contribute to other core areas in the department.
  4. A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities as.
