Position description

Hardwired is accepting applications for experienced teachers to assist in our international Teacher-Training program.

We are a non-profit organization that provides education and training in human rights —specifically the right to freedom of thought, conscience, religion or belief —for leaders worldwide. Hardwired defends the human rights of every person regardless of their religion, belief, or other status.

Teachers will be expected to travel to the Middle East and North Africa to assist in trainings with teachers in those countries.  As such, a United States passport and some experience with foreign travel is necessary.  Applicants must be willing to work from the Richmond, Virginia office while not traveling.

Teachers will work with team leaders participating in the training program to develop curriculum that effectively articulates religious freedom within the country and their classroom. Applicants should have at least three years teaching experience and be familiar with collaborative teaching methods. They should also be able to share examples of innovative teaching practices. Applicants should be familiar with and sensitive to working with other cultures and religious communities.

Hardwired is looking for candidates with demonstrated experience and interest in international affairs, human rights, education, and program management. The position requires excellent attention to detail as well as a strong ability to maintain clear communication across languages, time zones and cultures. The position is salaried ($40,000 - $60,000 annually) with benefits.

Hardwired is not a religious organization and does not discriminate on any basis. All employees must be willing to support Hardwired’s mission of advancing the human right to freedom of religion or belief in Article 18 of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights for all people. Please visit our website at www.hardwiredglobal.org for more information about us.
