Position description

The British Chamber of Commerce has been a part of the Brussels business scene for over 120 years and has never been more relevant than it is today. Our member companies employ more than 1.5m in the UK, and more in the EU.

As the relationship between Britain and Europe evolves, a strong and consistent voice for UK-EU business and a platform for companies to engage with policy makers and network with other businesses is more important than ever. We believe that a successful business relationship between Britain and the EU is key, not only to the UK’s, but also to Europe’s future prosperity.

Qualifications

The British Chamber are seeking to recruit a new CEO to commence Q2 2020. Based full-time in our offices in Brussels, the Candidate should possess the following, pre-requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • A recognised & credible standing in the Brussels EU & business community;
  • Clear understanding of the workings of a membership-based association;
  • Highly adept at public speaking;
  • Personable character who will be the principle ambassador for the Chamber;
  • High energy with a business development mindset;
  • Strategic vision with extensive and nuanced skills to drive change management, mission fulfilment, and operational outcomes;
  • Proven skills in human resource development, team leading/building and performance management;
  • Exceptional communication skills, both in written and oral English, to be able to liaise with Chamber members, prospective members, government and elected officials, outside organizations, media outlets and the Board of Directors;
  • The candidate should relish a challenge and be prepared to adapt to the changing political landscape;
  • Fluent English with French and/or Flemish as preferred additional languages.

A competitive remuneration package will be offered to the successful candidate
