World Vision USA is a part of the larger World Vision International partnership, a development and advocacy organisation devoted to improving the lives of children, families and their communities around the world. The Job: We are looking for our next Policy Advisor who will lead advocacy efforts focused on Food Security, Livelihoods, and WASH. In this role, you will:

  • Promote justice for the world's poor and oppressed people through advocacy among governments, global institutions, World Vision U.S. (WVUS) donors and the general public.
  • Serve as department's primary advisor and resource on assigned topic areas.
  • Help carry out our Christian organization's mission and strategy. Candidates must be in agreement with and help to enhance World Vision’s Mission, Vision, and Values. Prior to applying, candidates should read World Vision’s Statement of Christian faith.
  • Personify the ministry of World Vision by witnessing to Christ and ministering to others through life, deed, word and sign.

Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent (eight years) work experience. Master's degree a plus. In addition to education or educational equivalent, requires work experience with policy and advocacy issues and interaction with the executive and legislative branches of the U.S. government; 3-5 years. Must have work experience producing briefing papers, congressional testimony, letters and various media materials. Must be able to communicate effectively with external audiences, including the news media. Must have a mature faith demonstrated by a personal commitment to Jesus Christ and service to others.
