Global Security and Resilience Services (GSRS) protects, sustains, and enables Google's ability to thrive. You'll work hard to ensure our people and spaces are safe while preserving our open and collaborative culture. 

As a Regional Security Specialist, you'll be a part of the security and business resilience team that manages disruptive events through the ability to anticipate, deter, detect, and act - the key pillars of Google’s Global Security and Resilience Services. You'll be part of the team at the center of security and resilience operations and help to monitor and manage the response to enterprise threats that could affect Google’s personnel and business activities.

From keeping Googlers safe and secure to managing disruptive events, the ability to anticipate, deter, detect, and act are the pillars of Google’s Global Security and Resilience Services (GSRS) team. As a member of GSRS you will help develop a culture where safety, security and resiliency are integrated into every facet of Google, including the creative process. You will help us continually identify, evaluate and monitor enterprise risks that could affect business activities and provide business leaders the information they need to make critical decisions. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to create innovative strategies and develop programs that drive sustainable effectiveness.


  • Monitor and investigate alarms closely through an enterprise alarm monitoring system. Use surveillance systems and critical decision making to investigate and address every security event alarm.
  • Create detailed reports of incidents using internal incident management reporting system. 
  • Use CCTV to obtain a better understanding of a situation, document events, or assist with investigations regarding possible theft, unwanted personnel, vandalism, etc. 
  • Field phone calls, chat requests, or other requests ensuring customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor all radio traffic and dispatches/tracks field security units using Google products and radio systems. Work on a shift-based schedule, which many include non-standard hours.


Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Criminology, Political Science, or International Relations, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Ability to work in a shift pattern or non-standard work hours as necessary, which may include weekends and holidays.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working in a security operations center, emergency service control room, or similar command center/call center environment.
  • Ability to work with ambiguity, think critically, and have sound judgment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
