Description of Position

The Department of Geography and Political Science at Northeastern State University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in political science at the level of Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate political science courses in the areas of political theory and constitutional law, as well as General Education courses in American Federal Government.

This position will be based on the Tahlequah campus.

Responsibilities

  • Teach four political science courses (12 hours) each semester, including multiple sections of American Federal Government. Offer upper-division courses in political theory and constitutional law.
  • Pursue an ongoing scholarly research agenda that results in conference presentations and occasional refereed publications.
  • Serve on departmental and university committees.
  • Provide academic advisement to political science majors.
  • Assist with student recruitment efforts.

Education Requirements

PhD in Political Science required by time of appointment.

Experience

Previous college and online teaching experience preferred.

Annual salary commensurate with experience with excellent benefits

Projected hire date August 1, 2022
