The Transparency and Accountability Initiative (TAI) is a collaborative of leading funders of global transparency and accountability programming. We are committed to development through empowering citizens to hold their governing institutions to account.
TAI provides a platform for funder learning and collaborative action. It is a space to strategize, ask difficult questions, and interrogate evidence. We share knowledge and insights and align funding choices to increase our individual and collective impact.
The collaborative currently has seven members served by a Secretariat with three full-time staff based in Washington, DC.

The TAI secretariat is seeking a full-time Program Associate to be based in our Washington, D.C. office, reporting to the Executive Director. This person will be an integral member of our small team working across our program and activities.
In executing his/her/their responsibilities, the Program Associate will have the opportunity to gain substantive experience in the dynamic field of transparency and accountability, to strengthen a mix of skills (programmatic, research, facilitation and administrative), and to benefit from close collaboration with a diverse group of funders, philanthropic networks, advocacy organizations, researchers, and policymakers.
The ideal candidate must be able to function independently with minimal supervision, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and to serve as a reliable and flexible member of a small team. The ideal candidate will also have an appreciation for philanthropy’s role in supporting social change.
