Position description

The Global Studies Program at Swarthmore College invites applications for a two-year visiting appointment at the level of Assistant Professor to begin in Fall 2025. The successful candidate will have research interests in the field of borders and migration.  The successful candidate will teach a total of four courses, including one or two sections of the Introduction to Global Studies (previous instructions’ syllabi will be available if desired), and other courses that relate to the theme of Borders and Migration.  One of these courses will be cross-listed with the Department of Peace and Conflict Studies.  The successful candidate can have a background in any discipline with an expertise in Migration.

The Global Studies Program is an interdisciplinary program with courses qualifying for it from across all three divisions (Humanities, Social Sciences, and Natural Sciences and Engineering) at Swarthmore College.

Qualifications

Qualifications include: a Ph.D. in any discipline with an expertise in Borders and Migration; a passion for teaching and mentoring undergraduate students of diverse backgrounds; and scholarly work that is relevant to the topic of borders and migration.
