The Baker Institute for Peace and Conflict Studies at Juniata College in Pennsylvania invites applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar in Residence to start in Fall 2026. This one-year, full-time, non-tenure-track position (with the potential for renewal for a second year based on budget, need, and performance), is ideally suited for a recent Ph.D. graduate in Peace and Conflict Studies, International Conflict Management, International Studies, and International Relations.
The primary responsibilities of this position include teaching two courses in the fall and spring semesters, such as Mediation, Negotiation and Peacebuilding, Nonviolence and Social, Culture and Conflict, and other courses based on expertise. Additionally, the role involves conducting collaborative research with the institute's director as well as independent research. The Postdoctoral Scholar in Residence is also expected to mentor students' undergraduate research capstone as a committee member.

Primary Responsibilities
The Postdoctoral Scholar in Residence reports to the Institute's director and will contribute to the Institute's academic and research mission by teaching, producing scholarly work, and engaging and mentoring undergraduate students. Through the Residence program, the Baker Institute provides a space for peacebuilders and peace educators to interact and share their experiences with Juniata students.
