The Program Manager (PM) for the Latin American Sisters’ Initiative supports the development and implementation for Woods College’s degree initiation and degree completion programs pertaining to Latin American Sisters who are matriculating through a low residency program. The PM will serve this unique student body through personalized attention to each student (e.g., student advocacy, academic coaching, customizing programs of study, etc.) and broader programmatic planning and organization to enable smooth operation of academic programs and extracurricular activities relative to the periods of residency (2-3 times per year).
Furthermore, the PM will serve as the ongoing point of contact for Sisters between residency periods and will utilize a variety of communication methods to optimize student success and support. The Academic Advisor works closely with multiple departments and organizations to support student success and persistence endeavors. This includes the development of processes, programs, and workshops to support student cohorts and provide appropriate orientation and training as needed. The PM will collaborate with faculty regarding student concerns, student progress, and course content. All students in this program will be international students and this requires attention to specific needs of international student groups, including assisting with language proficiency, acculturation needs, and other support services.
Working closely with the Director of the Leadership and Administration MS program and reporting to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Advising, the PM will assist in course scheduling, faculty communications, and liaison work with Catholic Extension and other partnering organizations. The PM will participate in and support all key departmental operations including tracking statistics, proper file documentation, strategic planning and program assessment. Timely and accurate data entry and management within University systems is necessary.
It is expected that the PM will attend and assist with University events, such as graduation, orientation, and all residency related programming.
This position serves a specific and well-defined population of students, which necessitates that the applicant be bi-lingual (English and Spanish), have significant familiarity with Latin American culture (professionally), and have a clear and committed concern for the support of Catholic ministry and leadership.
MA degree or higher in global studies and/or intercultural and diplomatic relations. Terminal degree in a field related to legal and international affairs is preferred. Extensive lived history (5+ years) in Latin America expected. The ideal candidate will be a practicing Roman Catholic.
