Serves as the Protocol Assistant, advising the Ambassador, Deputy Chief of Mission and other mission officials on protocol issues and related matters in planning, developing, and carrying out official and social events at the USNATO mission, their residences and other premises. Develop subject expertise in American Protocol, and an in-depth understanding of NATO organization protocol, and the protocols for 30 member countries to NATO as well as host nation institutions.
The Protocol Assistant directs event planning and serves as the Front Office liaison with other sections within the mission to ensure seamless event execution and contribute to maintaining a positive image of the Ambassador and the U.S. Mission to NATO.
Qualifications and Evaluations
Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: Three years progressively responsible experience, in public relations, protocol, hospitality management or event planning in a related field (i.e. international diplomacy or business).
JOB KNOWLEDGE: Sound knowledge of political, economic and social structures and key officials in various NATO member countries. Knowledge of social customs, procedures, and protocol.
Education Requirements:
Two years of post-secondary education required.
Evaluations:
LANGUAGE: Fluency in English and limited knowledge of French and/or Dutch.
