Position description

Exovera LLC, a SOS International company, is seeking a highly qualified candidate to join its media monitoring and analysis team. The News Desk Manager is a vital role that ensures that the Exovera News Desk operation meets all media monitoring and analysis contract customer requirements while running in an consistent and efficient manner.


  • Overall day-to-day management of the News Desk staff in fulfilling Exovera’s traditional media monitoring and analysis contract deliverables.
  • Ensure all News Desk deliverables are produced and delivered on schedule and meet all customer and Exovera requirements and standards.
  • Responsible for News Desk scheduling; sets and oversees compliance with the 24/7/365 shift schedule.
  • Serve as “editor-in-chief” of the News Desk: Ensure all content conforms to a high professional standard that is consistent within and between programs. This includes consistent editorial judgement, stylistic standards, spelling conventions, and adherence to data and reporting formats.
  • Create and maintain documentation of SOPs and training and reference materials (style guides, report guidelines, deadlines, delivery procedures, etc.).
  • Respond to customer correspondence along with other management and staff. Establish clear rules and guidelines for each role about when and how to respond and when to elevate the correspondence to the next level.
  • Assist in administrative duties as necessary, including procurement, HR issues, etc.


  • Master’s degree or other post-graduate work preferred in International Relations, Journalism, International Security and Intelligence, Political Science, or related fields.
  • Ability to quickly process and organize large amounts of information, identify and assess items of greatest importance.
  • Proven skill and experience (at least 5 years) in professional writing and sophisticated analysis.
  • Experience with producing, monitoring, or analyzing international media.
  • Demonstrated interest in, and knowledge of, international current events.
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Comfort with high-speed work pace and comfort with online and social media.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work with others in a collaborative and supportive, flexible, collegiate atmosphere.
  • Conscientious attention to detail and customer requirements.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite applications and comfort with a range of computer applications.

Working Conditions 

  • Working conditions as normal for an office environment
  • Requires periods of non-traditional hours including consecutive nights or weekends when necessary, must be willing and able to work some overnight and weekend shifts.
  • May require ability to lift/and or move objects or packages of up to 25 lbs.
  • Remote flexibility.
