Position description

World Centric is a highly mission driven company that seeks to have a meaningful impact on people and the planet.  We design and manufacture plant-based, compostable products to replace single use plastics and use the profits from the sales to support communities living on less than $2.15/day.

World Centric’s giving program is focused on addressing the dual impacts of extreme poverty and the loss of natural ecosystems. Environmental degradation is primarily due to the over consumption of those with economic power and privilege, disproportionately impacting systematically marginalized and underserved communities worldwide.  World Centric supports nonprofit organizations around the world that are providing access to basic needs and economic empowerment, as well as advocating for the reduction of extractive activities that negatively impact the planet’s ecological systems and threaten the wellbeing of frontline communities.  Since 2009, World Centric has donated over 13M to grassroots organizations around the world.

The Giving Program Manager will support World Centric’s overarching giving strategy, focused on building partnerships with nonprofits and deploying grants.  This position will also create opportunities for World Centric staff and customers to connect with our giving partners and learn about our core values related to alleviating poverty, reducing consumption and community engagement. The Giving Program Manager will be a thought partner on a broad range of issues across all of World Centric’s funding areas.

This is a new role for World Centric and there is the opportunity to shape and define the scope of work. You will work closely with our Director of Impact, who is currently the sole staff person for World Centric’s philanthropy program.
