SEC Newgate EU is a Brussels-based advocacy and communications consultancy with global reach as part of the award-winning SEC Newgate Group.
We are looking for seasoned Public Affairs consultant with recognised expertise in EU chemicals policy as well as water-related files.
The ideal candidate will pair a sharp grasp of EU policy with a flair for communications, a can-do mindset, and the proven ability to leverage senior Brussels network to generate actionable intelligence and drive business development.
This is an exciting opportunity for a senior professional (senior account manager level) keen to work in a stimulating multicultural, multinational environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide strategic advice, analysis and guidance to various clients on EU sustainability/water/chemical policy, regulatory issues and advocacy opportunities;
- Maintain direct relations with clients in a position of responsibility as project manager (proposing and executing projects, drafting advocacy materials, organising activities including advocacy meetings and events, etc.);
- Develop our sustainability practice through excellent client servicing and acquisition of new clients;
- Actively develop SEC Newgate EU’s network amidst policy-making circles;
- Manage and review the work of junior colleagues;
- Mentor, coach and grow junior staff members;
- Support marketing activities and drive business development.
Qualifications
- 8 years of relevant professional experience in European Affairs, preferably in a consultancy;
- Excellent knowledge of the EU institutions and decision-making process with an expertise in EU chemicals policy (with strong PFAS knowledge) and water-related files;
- Strong client management and public affairs experience developing and executing successful advocacy strategies, including raising levels of familiarity of issues with policymakers;
- Proven ability to mobilise a senior Brussels network to generate actionable intelligence and drive business development;
- Excellent command of spoken and written English. Any other languages a plus;
- A people manager and team player with the curiosity and intellectual drive to learn;
- Self-starter, being able to work autonomously and with flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
