The Human Resources Associate’s role is to assist in the support of business units to ensure effective delivery of HR services. The HR Associate works closely with and under the direct supervision of the Senior Business Partner, Human Resources in coordination with Program Managers. This role also supports a number of other departments in Corporate Services and will occasionally support International Programs, as needed. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in recruitment, full employee cycle and HRIS platforms (Paylocity). French speaking is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise staff on HR policies, employee manuals, and best practices in line with local labor laws.
- Oversee and respond to US and International helpdesk ticket inquiries
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes, including new hire orientation and exit interviews.
- Maintain accurate personnel records and be a contact for HRIS inquiries
- Collaborate with managers on performance management and employee leave tracking.
- Support HR initiatives to drive operational efficiency.
Requirements:
- A Bachelors’ degree in Human Resources or related field required; Master’s Degree is a plus.
- At least 5 years of progressive HR experience. Previously experience working with an NGO preferred. Experience working with donor funded projects preferred.
- Bilingual in French highly preferred.
- Proficient in HRIS systems, specifically Paylocity.
- Strong understanding of HR best practices and employment law (Federal and state level). Prior experience working in US or International non-profit projects a plus.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Able to prioritize tasks, and takes initiative.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
