Position description

Burson Cohn & Wolfe (formerly Burson-Marsteller), an award-winning public affairs and communications consultancy, is hiring a Digital and Social Media Specialist with knowledge of EU public policy. We are seeking a professional with 3 to 4 years of experience to support clients across a variety of sectors including tech, foreign affairs, trade and defence. In addition to an understanding of EU public affairs, the ideal candidate will have experience in designing and implementing digital strategies as an integral part of a broader communications plan to improve clients’ online presence and achieve goals. The candidate should also have a clear idea and experience of how digital and social media tools add value to public affairs and company strategy.

Requirements

  • Design and help implement digital and social media strategies for your assigned clients across several policy sectors including but not limited to tech, foreign affairs, trade and defence;
  • Work on a range of client accounts at the same time, managing various projects and deadlines;
  • Present and train colleagues and clients on digital and social media strategies;
  • Analyse the effectiveness of digital campaigns and how these contribute to PA/communications campaigns, including regular reporting;
  • Recommend, design and implement additional ad-hoc digital and social media campaigns;
  • Keep abreast of new digital trends and business developments across several policy sectors;
  • Contribute to the integration of digital communications across BCW’s clients in Brussels and regionally.

You will easily build rapport with existing and new clients, translate client needs into actionable digital campaign strategies, and demonstrate the following competencies and skills:

  • 3-4 years of working experience as a Digital and Social Media specialist;
  • Knowledge of and interest in EU public policy across different sectors;
  • Previous experience in/affinity for public affairs clients/projects;
  • In-depth knowledge of online tools and technology;
  • Experience in online content production and social media analytics;
  • Excellent understanding and knowledge of social media platforms;
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills;
  • Experience of working with teams to create, implement, and maintain effective integrated communications campaigns;
  • Strong team spirit and experience in working in a multicultural environment;
  • The ability to juggle multiple clients/campaigns while working with several colleagues and teams;
  • Communicates thoughtfully, accurately, and efficiently to establish relationships;
  • Masters the detail of complex issues, providing strategic advice on challenging and interesting topics;
  • Enthusiastic about new technology advancements and keeping up to speed with new digital trends;
  • Excellent spoken and written English, other European languages are also an important asset.
