Position description

Forum is a pan-European initiative launched in 2020, with the overall goal of creating a digital European public sphere by providing every day on its platform the most relevant articles on Europe contributed by leading News publications. Forum makes all articles accessible to Europeans by translating them into several European languages. Learn more at forum.eu.

Forum is looking for a self-starting and very adaptable editor to join our team and to lead our efforts to make Forum the leading platform for debates on the Future of Europe. The Editor is Forum’s representative in Brussels, develops fruitful relationships with all respective thought leaders and organisations through networking events, conferences and social media engagement and creates high-end content for our platform.

What are your daily tasks?

As the Editor for the Future of Europe, you will:

  • Build a strong network of thought leaders and organizations;
  • Conceptualise a social media engagement strategy and formats in coordination with Forum’s editorial team;
  • Generate interesting and topic specific articles to spur debates for Forum;
  • Conceptualise and lead the creation of a podcast;
  • Position Forum as an actively participating media partner of conferences and moderate session;
  • Support offline/online Member Growth efforts;
  • Represent Forum at conferences and events in Brussels and in Europe.

What should your profile bring?

As part of a dynamic and entrepreneurial team, you should bring:

  • Interest in, and understanding of sociopolitical issues/narratives/debates in Europe, particularly in the context of the Future of Europe with the emphasis on democratisation, citizens dialog and enhancing citizen participation;
  • Strong editorial background in academia, journalism, or policy;
  • Strong interpersonal. communications, and networking skills;
  • Experience in moderating debates;
  • Strong attention to detail, high appreciation and taste for hands-on copywriting and copy editing;
  • Autonomous and self-starting work style;
  • Excellent English skills, other European languages are an advantage;
  • Ideally connections to thought leaders and organizations in Brussels.

This is a remote position based in Brussels. Regular travel to the Berlin Headquarters is expected.
