World Education, Inc. (WEI) seeks an experienced Digital Literacy Consultant to support the USAID-funded Saint Lucia ConnectEd Activity (ConnectEd), aimed at building resilience and improving the quality of teaching and learning in Saint Lucia by equipping youth and educators as digital literacy leaders in their communities. ConnectEd will leverage innovative approaches and models, including WEI’s EdTEch Maker Space, to support teacher professional development, youth digital skills development, and other activities that result in open education resources (OER), digital tools that can be easily accessed, reused, and adapted by teachers.
In an effort to link classroom learning to in-demand workplace skills, ConnectEd will bring together public and private sector stakeholders in Saint Lucia, including youth, to identify ways to engage young people in digital learning, both in and outside the classroom, and build their employability skills. In order to do so, the UNESCO Global Framework on Digital Literacy Skills will be adapted to align learning standards in Saint Lucia to digital skills and positive youth development outcomes. Specifically, the competency framework will define the knowledge, skills, and attributes needed for youth in Saint Lucia to become digitally literate to the level of being able to function effectively in the job market. ConnectEd will thus define the specific digital competencies that learners need to meet educational standards, receive credentials, and be prepared for the world of work in Saint Lucia.
