Your future role

As a Senior Project Manager or Senior Advisor in the EU Advisory Department of Viegand Maagøe group, you will take on a leading role in the management and delivery of various environmental and climate projects for EU institutions, governments and private sector clients. You will work in a multidisciplinary team, guiding projects through all phases – from conceptualisation to implementation. You will work for EU clients (for example, DG CLIMA, DG ENV, DG ENER, CINEA, JRC, and many other EU institutions), as well as national authorities and private sector clients. Examples of areas you may work on include (but are not limited to): EU ETS, industrial decarbonisation, climate adaptation, environmental governance, environmental pricing, greening of EU funds, sustainable finance, as well as more sector specific areas such as greening of energy systems, circularity, waste, water.

Your future key responsibilities

  • Lead and manage projects related to EU environment and climate policies for the EU institutions and other relevant clients;
  • Identify new business opportunities and contribute to the growth of the EU advisory department in climate and environment;
  • Guide the development of robust methodologies including data collection activities (quantitative and qualitative data collection), and stakeholder consultation activities;
  • Contribute to high quality reports, proposals, presentations and other deliverables;
  • Mentor and develop younger consultants, fostering a collaborative work environment;

Your qualifications and skills

  • Master’s degree in environmental science, economics, law, or related sustainability disciplines;
  • At least 5-7 years of experience in consulting or policy research, ideally experience working on EU consulting or policy research;
  • In-depth knowledge of EU institutions, legislative processes, governance and regulatory frameworks on EU climate, environment or energy;
  • Proven track record of successful project management, from conception to execution;
  • Experience with Better Regulation Guidelines studies is an advantage;
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and present to senior stakeholders;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, client-driven environment;
  • Ability to manage and develop teams and generate a collaborative and high-performing environment;
  • Excellent command of English. Other EU language skills are an advantage.
