The Global Green Growth Institute internship program (also called “Grow Green” Program) provides a unique learning opportunity for students and recent graduates from diverse academic backgrounds. The program is designed for talented and motivated individuals skilled in areas relevant to GGGI’s operations. The program allows selected candidates to gain insight into the work of the Institute and provides assistance and training in various professional fields in a multicultural environment. We encourage qualified women and men, in particular, nationals of developing countries, with diverse professional, academic, and cultural backgrounds to apply. 


Current Opportunity

We are seeking a talented individual to support the implementation of the National Adaptation Plan Readiness project titled “Mainstreaming Adaptation at the Local Level in Fiji.” The selected candidate will play a key role in various project activities, including but not limited to:

 

  • Data Collection & Analysis – Support the Readiness Program Officer in collecting and analyzing primary and secondary data. Conduct literature reviews and prepare summary briefs, PowerPoint presentations, and talking points on topics such as climate change, adaptation, nature-based solutions, and traditional knowledge.
  • Meeting Coordination – Assist in organizing and facilitating internal and external meetings with GGGI’s Fiji Country Program Office and key stakeholders.
  • Workshop & Consultation Support – Help coordinate and facilitate workshops, including focus group discussions during consultation sessions.
  • Policy Development – Support the preparation of policy documents and strategies through facilitations of consultation workshops and conducting desktop policy analysis ensuring vertical and cross-sectoral alignment.
  • Stakeholder Engagement – Carry out tasks that help the project team maintain strong working relationships with key government partners, including the Department of Environment & Climate Change, the Ministry of iTaukei Affairs, and the Ministry of Rural & Maritime Development.
  • Communications – Prepare press releases and social media posts for review and approval by the GGGI Communications Team and the Country Representative.


Eligibility 

Applicants to the GGGI internship program must at the time of application meet the following requirements:

  • Be enrolled in a Bachelor’s (final year), Master’s or PhD program prior to internship assignment, or a recent graduate within the last 12 months.
  • Be engaged or recently engaged in academic study in a field directly related to the Institute’s work, in science, engineering, economics with a focus on climate change.
  • Have strong interest in climate change area of work, particularly in adaptation.
  • Possess an excellent command of English.
  • Be able to work independently, while also being a team player
  • Located in Suva, Fiji
  • Preferably to have own computer

 

Selection Process

  • GGGI evaluates applications based on: eligibility requirements, relevance of academic study and work experience (if any); and the level of interest and motivation to contribute to development work.
