REDD is looking for a self-starter seeking an introductory, NY-based position in financial journalism and exposure to Latin America and the emerging markets.
The reporter will initially cover the primary bond market, gaining valuable insight into the interplay between market technicals, company fundamentals and the political economy, working alongside our market-leading team of veteran financial journalists and analysts. With experience and growth, the reporter will “graduate” to covering complex event driven special situations, investigating catalyst trading events that influence securities prices.
This job is challenging and requires an out-of-the-box thinker, someone who is eager to learn, investigate and is not discouraged by a steep learning curve. As a large part of the job requires establishing relationships with different market, company and government sources, the successful candidate will also be amicable and approachable.
The candidate should have some knowledge of finance/economics and history with an interest in Latin American economic and political history. However, strong English language skills and fluency/proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese are a must.
Risk Event-Driven and Distressed Intelligence (REDD) is an online financial information platform that provides intelligence and data on emerging market companies experiencing change. REDD Latin America was founded in October 2013 by Manhattan and Silicon Valley based partners with the idea of combining the latest web-based technology with emerging markets financial intelligence and data.
REDD's market recognized team of journalists and analysts is based out of Buenos Aires, Santiago de Chile, Sao Paulo, Mexico City, New York and California.
