Position description

As a member of Google’s Government Affairs and Public Policy team, you'll be part of a diverse global government affairs team, working across regions, product areas, and functions. You’ll combine creativity and intellectual excellence with the organizational skills to manage various campaigns, projects and initiatives. In this role, you’ll advocate for Google to bring external perspectives back into the company to inform our perception and direction. You're passionate about the opportunity to shape the future of how we use and build technology for everyone.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $134,000-$198,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Craft quantitative and qualitative messaging research to inform narrative development on a range of tech- and innovation-related policy topics.
  • Leverage opinion research insights to produce specific, actionable message guidance and resources.
  • Review public policy, communications, and marketing content to ensure message consistency.
  • Brief Government Affairs and Public Policy leads and other external-facing teams teams on research insights.
  • Monitor, process, and curate external polling insights for internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of work experience in polling, market research, public affairs, government, or campaigns.
  • 2 years of experience managing opinion research initiatives at an agency or in-house.

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience designing qualitative and quantitative research strategies to address strategic goals and generate actionable insights.
  • Experience working with communications or marketing teams on reputation research and initiatives.
  • Experience working on longitudinal or recurring/tracking studies to understand incremental trends in corporate reputation among specialized audiences.
  • Excellent political judgment, with an understanding of how policymakers communicate and what they value.
  • Ability to clearly articulate and contextualize data and trends in an accessible manner to internal stakeholders.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
