Job Title: Security Officer

Job location: Lebanon, Beirut (national coverage with field travel)

Reports to: Country Representative and technically to Global Security & Access Manager

Liaises with: Program, Logistics, HR/Admin, HQ Security Focal Point, UNDSS, INGO Security Forums

Contract Type: National Staff, Full-Time

JOB SUMMARY

The Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety, security, and duty of care of MedGlobal staff, assets, and operations across Lebanon. The role supports routine security management and emergency preparedness in a fluid and high-risk environment.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Security Risk Management

      • Conduct regular security risk assessments and update area risk profiles.
      • Develop, review, and enforce security SOPs, movement protocols, and contingency plans.
      • Monitor and analyze national and local security developments.

Field Support & Access

      • Support safe staff and supply movements, including route assessments and tracking.
      • Liaise with local authorities, community leaders, and humanitarian actors to support acceptance and access.
      • Conduct security briefings and orientations for staff, visitors, and volunteers.

Emergency Preparedness & Response

      • Develop, test, and update evacuation, relocation, and shelter-in-place plans.
      • Maintain MEDEVAC procedures and referral mapping.
      • Act as a focal point during security incidents, ensuring timely communication and reporting.

Reporting & Compliance

      • Draft incident reports and regular security updates.
      • Ensure compliance with MedGlobal Security Framework and Duty of Care standards.
      • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive security information.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

      • Bachelor's degree in security management, Risk Management, or related field.
      • Minimum 5 years of security experience, including NGO or humanitarian contexts.
      • Strong understanding of Lebanon’s security landscape.
      • Fluency in Arabic and English.
      • Strong judgment, discretion, and decision-making under pressure.
