The American Enterprise Institute seeks a government relations assistant to join the AEI government relations team to promote AEI’s scholarship among government officials on Capitol Hill, the executive branch, and state level executives and legislators.
The position’s primary responsibilities include Salesforce database management — specifically strengthening agency and executive branch contacts, tracking House and Senate committee agendas, increasing impact through formalizing a relationship tracker, and creating and tailoring mass marketing products — research, and general administrative work. Successful candidates will be detail-oriented and organized self-starters with strong oral and written skills; research skills; the ability to meet tight deadlines, multitask, and prioritize; and a keen interest in foreign and defense policy issues.
A bachelor’s degree is required. A strong familiarity with issues in foreign and defense policy and experience working in list management or government relations are preferred. The position will interface directly with the members of AEI’s government relations team.
