The Department of Curriculum and Instruction is seeking to hire a Lecturer of Education to join our faculty in the areas of social studies education and field experience. Primary responsibilities associated with this position are teaching social studies methods courses in the prekindergarten–grade 4 (prekindergarten–grade 4), middle level education (grades 4–8), and secondary education (grades 7–12) teacher education programs. The successful candidate will also be asked to teach methods courses and supervise students in field experiences. Opportunities to work closely within established school-university partnerships are expected. A Master’s degree is required. Desired qualifications include: experience teaching social studies courses in history, geography, government, and economics in at least one of the high school, middle school, or elementary school levels; experience teaching students in urban settings; knowledge or experience with international relations; experience integrating technology into classroom lessons; experience conducting professional development on classroom management; and experience teaching kindergarten–grade 12 social studies in more than one school district or region.
