Position description

Reporting to the Associate Director, the incumbent is responsible for all non-academic and day to day aspects of the dual-degree masters program in International and World History at Columbia and the London School of Economics (LSE). He/she serves as a liaison between Columbia's History Department and key affiliates, coordinating and communicating with appropriate staff at Columbia and LSE. He/she provides day-to-day and overall administrative, operational and financial management for the program; works with the Associate Director to project and maintain budgets for the program; is responsible for all program events; arranging faculty and student travel and exchanges to LSE. He/she responds to student and program inquiries, audits student records for degree requirements, creates and updates databases, assists students with visas and housing, serves as liaison with campus offices, and oversees career development workshops. He/she will work closely with the Associate Director to recruit students, develop marketing and outreach campaigns and general support of the admission process. S/he is responsible for managing and updating the program's website, program's comprehensive Wiki page to serve both alumni and current students and the program's social media presence. S/he is responsible for collecting/analyzing employment data, generating placement and related reports for the MA Program, assisting with the placement of students, developing relationships with alumni, building and enhancing a database of program's specific alumni and employers. Other duties as requested.  

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and/or its equivalent and 2-4 years of related experience.  

Excellent writing and organizational skills; demonstrated ability to manage projects independently; and strong computer skills, including database knowledge, required.  

Preferred QualificationsGraduate study in history, international relations, or a related field. Familiarity with website development/management program and all Microsoft Office Suite programs. Knowledge of HTML preferred.
