Engage in strengthening healthcare education and services provider, International Medical Corps', public image and presence in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nations across a broad range of sectors, including governments, international and local non-governmental organizations, business, academia and donors.
To further this objective, identify areas of opportunity; select material for release to various communications media; provide high quality technical support (internally & externally); provide operational capacity building and training; provide high-level advocacy; and ensure program visibility. Work with Senior VP of International Operations on developing short-term and long-term business strategies and objectives for MENA initiatives in GCC, and engage in strategy implementation. Expand the GCC portfolio by identifying and pursuing new funding opportunities from government agencies and donors. Coordinate with Regional Coordinators and Technical Unit on the development of proposals to GCC government agencies and private donors. Create and manage a revenue generation plan through strategic partnerships with the MENA diaspora in Europe and the US. Identify and pursue fundraising opportunities that target the MENA diaspora in the US and the UK. Develop and support implementation of a communications plan for the Middle East region, including guidelines for International Medical Corps' Arabic content to ensure messaging in Arabic media is consistent with that of Global Headquarters. Work with the Communication and IT teams to maintain and update the International Medical Corps Arabic website content. Build and maintain relationships with key media outlets in MENA and GCC. Recruit, train and manage 4 direct reports to support the implementation of the MENA Initiative strategy (Humanitarian Liaison Officer, Senior Officer, Office Manager, Global Strategy Officer). Ensure development of appropriate marketing materials and tools to reach the target MENA and GCC audiences in the US. Represent International Medical Corps at external business and public events. Identify and coordinate events and activities that enhance visibility for International Medical Corps and provide strategic networking opportunities. Support the Office of the CEO on building relationships with executives, government officials and royalty from GCC. Travel to the Middle East required 6-8 times per year (7 days on average, per trip).
