OVERVIEW

USCRI, through a cooperative agreement with Office of Refugee Resettlement, manages the Home Study and Post Release Services program for Unaccompanied Children (UC). The project provides home assessments and post placement services to children and their sponsors who have recently been reunified. The goal of the program is to assist clients in accessing community resources and ensuring a safe and appropriate placement. Services are provided nationally through 10 partner agencies and affiliates. The Program Assistant will provide programmatic support and case referral coordination. The Program Assistant will work in close coordination with the Referral Coordinator and Associate Director. This position will report to the Associate Director for Children Services. This position is located in Arlington, VA.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the management of requests for Post Release Services;
  • Determine program capacity to accept referrals;
  • Assess reasons for referral;
  • Write referral summaries;
  • Track referrals;
  • Prioritize expedited referrals;
  • Record and analyze data for reporting;
  • Disseminate information via telephone, mail, web, and email; and
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of two years relevant experience, preferably in Human Services, is required;
  • Familiarity with social work and/or case management services and documentation is required;
  • Keen attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast paced environment;
  • Ability to communicate professionally via phone and email with potential clients and referral sources;
  • Excellent organizational and data entry skills;
  • Demonstrated knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office, with proficiency in Excel; and 
  • Fluency in Spanish preferred
