Join a vibrant campus community whose excellence is reflected in its diversity and student success.  West Chester University of Pennsylvania's Department of Political Science invites applications for a Tenure Track Assistant Professor position in the field of International Relations beginning in August 1, 2018.
 
Teaching responsibilities will include introductory-level International Relations and Comparative Politics, and United States Government and Politics courses; and upper-level courses in Middle East and Africa Area Studies, or Islamic or Arab Politics or other Areas as needed; and U.S. foreign policy, or cross-national policy analysis; Contemporary Issues in International Relations, such as transnational trade, immigration issues, global security, human rights, and/or the environment. Other responsibilities of the position include an active research agenda and appropriate service, including program development, student advising, all in a manner consistent with our department mission, which emphasizes global perspectives.  In addition, this faculty member will teach and/or lead academic activities in the new interdisciplinary Global Studies Minor.

Minimum Qualifications

The successful applicant should possess a Ph.D. in Political Science or closely related Discipline (ABD considered with evidence of completion by start date) and a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and research. West Chester University is primarily a teaching university with a teaching load of 12 credits each semester (three preparations).   Applicants must provide evidence of experience in and a strong commitment to teaching. Finalists must successfully complete an on-site interview, including a teaching demonstration.
